If your restructuring is to keep Igboland divided, hear this!

Dr Akin Fapohunda, Director of Research of Afenifere, told Nigerian Tribune that if Tinubu had agreed to restructure Nigeria, bandits from the North would not have infiltrated Yorubaland. He is right that Nigeria needs restructuring.


But we must ask: Which restructuring are you talking about?


If the restructuring you want is the same fraudulent restructuring that removes Ohaji/Egbema from Imo State to Rivers State and divides Igboland into pieces to deny us sea access, then we reject it.


If it is the same restructuring that Ojukwu agreed and signed with Gowon at Aburi, and your people went and killed Biafrans for it, then why are you wailing for it now?


You cannot kill 3 million Biafrans to stop the regional arrangement Ojukwu and Gowon agreed on, and 50 years later come to cry that Tinubu should restructure. Where were you when we were being massacred for asking for the same thing?


Dr Fapohunda says Western Region would have protected itself with Amotekun if restructured. That is exactly what Eastern Region would have done too. An undivided Igbo Region from Abia, Anambra, Anioma, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, down to Rivers and the Atlantic, with our people in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross River, Edo, Kogi intact - would have protected itself.


No restructuring that landlocks Igbo into 5 states while carving out Rivers is acceptable. Ohaji/Egbema is Imo. Egbema is Igbo. You cannot use "South-South" to steal Igbo oil and then preach restructuring.


Igbo position from Vanguard Page 2 (Sept 24, 2026) is clear:


ONE undivided IGBO REGION with direct access to the sea. 10 Regions based on ethno-linguistic nationalities. No division of Igboland.


If Afenifere wants true restructuring, let them support the 10 Regions where Yoruba has its full territory and Igbo has its full territory with sea access. That is justice.


Otherwise, stop wailing. You rejected it when Ojukwu asked for it. Ask for a REFERENDUM!

Would Igbos Support Peter Obi If He Were From Ebonyi?

Recent comments by Minister of Works and former Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi have sparked another conversation about Peter Obi, Igbo politics and the role of state of origin in determining political support.
