The 10 Regions Igbo Leaders Endorsed: The Official Igbo Position From Vanguard Page 2

By Eastern Reporters | September 24, 2026

Nigeria must return to 10 Regions based on Ethno-Linguistic Nationalities. That is the framework.

This is the official map from Page 2 of Vanguard (Sept 24, 2026). This is the position Igbo leaders endorsed, and it is the position Abuja has been trying to distort.

For years, the fraud has been to landlock Ndi Igbo into 5 states and carve out Rivers and our access to the Atlantic. Igbo says NO to that fraud.

THE 10 REGIONS AS ENDORSED:

1. IGBO REGION: Abia, Anambra, Anioma, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Rivers down to the Atlantic, plus Igbo communities in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross River, Edo, and Kogi. ONE undivided Igbo with sea access.

2. IJAW REGION: Bayelsa, parts of Delta, Rivers, Ondo.

3. AKWA-CROSS REGION: Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogoja.

4. BENIN / MID-WEST REGION: Edo, Delta South/Central.

5. YORUBA / WESTERN REGION: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Yoruba in Kwara/Kogi.

6. HAUSA-FULANI REGION: Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Kebbi.

7. KANURI / BORNO REGION: Borno, Yobe.

8. MIDDLE BELT REGION: Plateau, Nasarawa, Southern Kaduna, Benue, Taraba, FCT.

9. NIGER / NORTH-WEST REGION: Niger State and environs.

10. ADAMAWA / GONGOLA REGION: Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba.

This is about justice, identity, and economic survival. You cannot talk about restructuring while keeping Igbo landlocked and cutting off our ancient access to the sea through Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta.

The 10-region model restores historical truth. It restores ethno-linguistic reality. It ends the state-creation injustice against Ndi Igbo.

Igbo position is clear: ONE undivided Igbo Region with sea access. No compromise.

Share this. The world must know the official position.
